Local attractions
The fabulous city of Granada, allows
you the opportunity to mix the ancient with the modern. If you tire of the Alhambra and
the Albaicin - Granada's surviving Arab quarter, the Cathedral or any of the
other outstanding ancient monuments, you can retire to one of the many squares
and indulge in the Spanish pastime of just sitting and watching the rest of
the city parade past you as you try to decide how much tapas will keep you going
until the locals decide it's late enough to eat dinner.
Sol y Nieve ski resort in the Sierra
Nevada. Ski season runs from December to March. In the summertime it reverts
to a national park, where you can walk, mountain bike, horse ride or participate
in any number of similar adventurous activities.
Las Alpujarras - made famous by Gerald
Brennan and more recently in the book 'Driving over Lemons'. A collection of
authentic villages and hamlets, fantastic scenery and spectacular views. Home
to many local craft, trade and produce sellers and the location of the highest
village in Spain.
Costa Tropical - the nearest coastal
area, which boasts typically Spanish seaside towns, especially out of season,
where you can eat freshly caught produce at the many small restaurants located
on the beach. Running from Salobrena through to Almunecar, the latter offers
a water park in the summer months.
Newly opened Santa Clara Golf club only 15 mins away and the existing Granada Golf Club approx 35 mins away.
