The Valley of Lecrin
The Lecrin Valley is a series of
typical Andalusian white villages set along the valley of the Rio Santo,
just south
of Granada.
Turn
off of the new motorway and back into a pace and style of life untouched
by the ravages of "progress".
This lush valley, fed by the abundant
melting snow of the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains, still retains its original
Moorish terracing and all the slopes abound with fruit trees of every kind,
including orange, lemon, pomegranate, almond, walnut and avocado, where the
harvest is still gathered by hand and transported by mule.
